The DMO combines BYD's Non-Load-Bearing Frame Designed for Hybrids with a specialized off-road hybrid architecture. This integration taps into BYD's expertise in high-performance chassis, intelligent electric four-wheel drive, and off-road powertrains. The Dual Mode Off-road (DMO) Super Hybrid Platform boasts multiple innovative features including the Cell to Chassis (CTC) technology, striking a balance between vehicle safety, powerful off-roading, and energy consumption.

In terms of styling, the BYD Shark showcases a robust, square-shaped front fascia with a prominent BYD logo. The headlights are rectangular and equipped with LED daytime running lights.

The side sports two-tone alloy wheels, flat-profile tires, and a higher ground clearance suggesting off-road capability. At the rear, the Shark boasts a continuous LED taillight design, complementing its front-end aesthetics, and is equipped with side steps, a roof rack, and a roll bar.

The interior predominantly adopts a black theme, accentuated by orange highlights for a sporty feel. There are also mechanical switches behind the gear lever.

Regarding powertrain options, the BYD Shark is anticipated to offer both plug-in hybrid and pure electric variants. Leveraging the DMO platform's emphasis on electric drivetrain technology for off-road performance, the Shark can accommodate various engine displacements, including 1.5T and 2.0T engines.
